Echo’s Evolution

Echo thought he’d been handed a perfect second life—reincarnated into a world of swords, magic, and endless growth just like in the fantasy stories he lost himself in to escape the hunger of hovering on the edge of poverty.

Then the quest went wrong.

Betrayed and left to die, he falls into the hands of a mad mage and is remade by a forbidden artifact—reborn as something wearing human skin, but no longer human. A hunger given form.

To survive, he must hunt.

Monsters. Twisted things that were once people. Their hearts are power—and he has no choice but to tear them out and devour them. Each kill makes him stronger. Each evolution takes something from him in return.

Kill. Consume. Evolve.

Humanity is a weakness he can’t afford. Mercy is a luxury that will get him killed. And the deeper he descends, the more he begins to wonder if there’s anything left of the man he used to be.

But hunger doesn’t stop. Not at monsters. Not at angels. Not even at gods.
